A new year carries with it a special energy, and we’re looking forward to bringing our users a steady stream of new improvements, features and not a few surprises throughout 2026. It’s all about building on the momentum of the last twelve months, which saw Camo undergo some big changes: since our last State of Camo check-in, we’ve shipped ambitious changes to the desktop app, opened up new creative possibilities on iPad with our first hardware integration, and deepened our work alongside partners like Razer and Elgato. Whether building integrations together or collaborating to bring better video to new audiences, 2025 was about expanding what Camo can do – and where it can go.
To everyone who uses Camo, who tests it, who takes the time to write to us – thank you. Camo could not have come this far without being shaped by you, and we hold that partnership dear. Now here’s a look back at the moments that got us here:
Camo Studio for Mac and PC
2025 was a defining year for our flagship app. With the release of 2.3 in late summer, we introduced a new layout built around Scenes and Profiles. It was a major shift – rethinking how we enable users to configure and switch between different video setups – but one we felt was essential to support the future of the platform.

We know that change of this scale isn't always seamless, and that the updated interface and workflow required adjustment that could be disruptive to the experience of some of our users. We heard that feedback loud and clear, and used it to sharpen our focus.
Camo Studio 2.5, released in November, was an update dedicated purely to improving performance and stability for all users. Across both Mac and Windows, we reworked the video processing pipeline to reduce resource usage and significantly improve battery life. It was all about ensuring that the powerful features introduced in 2.3 would now run with all the speed and efficiency you expect from us.
Earlier in the year, our Beta program had played a vital role in catching issues and shaping the direction of these updates. That input made a tangible difference, and we can’t thank enough everyone who participated. Now we’re heading into 2026 with a stable, powerful platform on both operating systems, and a clear, exciting vision for where we take Camo Studio next.
Camo Studio for iPad
Last year also saw the iPad app leap forward. In late Spring, a 2.2 update delivered a more polished interface, an improved gallery experience, and a new Explore section. These were welcome refinements, but the most exciting development for tablet creators came through our work with Elgato.
Camo x Elgato
In July, we shipped Stream Deck support for Camo Studio on iPad – our first hardware integration on the platform, and one developed in close collaboration with the team at Elgato. For mobile streamers, it unlocked an entirely new physical and tactile experience of the Camo workflow. Switching scenes, toggling settings, and triggering actions via Stream Deck - all without needing to touch the screen - makes for a professional and precise creative experience. It’s a bridge between mobile convenience and desktop power, and we’re proud of how it came together.
Camo x Razer
It was a year of new partnerships on a number of fronts, and with Razer, we were eager to see what our super-powered software could add to their top-tier hardware experience. Starting with Camo as an add-on in Razer Cortex, the partnership evolved into something much more substantial: Razer now encourages all users of its cameras to optimise their video with Camo, and starting with the Kiyo V2, owners of Razer's flagship webcams receive the full power of Camo Pro, unlocking higher resolutions and the full breadth and depth of Camo's capabilities.
The reception has been validating. Reading reviews that highlight how Camo complements Razer’s hardware confirms our belief that great software and hardware create video magic when they truly come together.

Connecting with the Industry
2025 was also a year of building ever closer relationships with the industry. From TwitchCon to Microsoft Build and Ignite, we’ve stayed close to the ground, listening to creators and developers, and sharing what we’re building.

Behind the scenes, that collaboration extended to the silicon itself. To ensure Camo is optimised for the latest NPU architectures, we’ve been partnering closely with Microsoft, Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm. Doing the heavy lifting now means that when the next generation of PCs arrives, Camo won't just work – it will be faster, smarter, and more efficient from day one.
App Store Awards
In November, Camo was named a finalist for Apple's 2025 App Store Awards in the Vision category. It was a proud moment for the team – a signal that the care we put into our craft is continuing to resonate. We took a moment to celebrate, and then got right back to building.
Camo Streamlight
Finally, in December, we released something completely new. Camo Streamlight is a virtual ring light for Windows that leverages the HDR capabilities of your screen to improve lighting in video calls and streams.
At the moment we’re treating Camo Streamlight as a beta – an experimental tool we’re inviting people to try. We have exciting new features planned for future updates, but we want to ensure they align with what you actually need.
