macOS

Camo Studio 2.1.3.11491 released

  • We've added template variables like first name and last name for overlays so you can easily apply them to any overlay.

  • We've improved how we display warnings (such as those about possible issues when using a USB hub) to ensure they won't get missed.
  • We've polished the visual blur effect we use when switching between devices.
  • We've improved how Camo Studio handles situations where a UVC device is unreliable and offer a way to fix it.
  • We've improved how Camo Studio automatically selects a device if there's not one selected.
  • Our installation wizard is now correctly translated to other languages.
  • Camo Studio looks better now on the latest macOS versions.
  • We've polished the look and feel of the overlay editor and gallery.
  • We've made some improvements for using Smart zoom with a background mode enabled.
  • We've added an option in Camo Studio to set the preview video on iOS to use "Scale to fit" instead of "Scale to fill".
  • A newly paired device will be automatically selected in Camo Studio after pairing.

  • We've made a number of improvements and fixes to make recording more reliable.
  • Camo Studio will apply new settings correctly now after switching between Mono and Stereo in preferences.
  • Camo Studio will pass audio from a selected input correctly after switching to another device.
  • We've fixed an issue where applying a preset in Camo Studio didn't reset the zoom value in some cases.
  • We've fixed any issue where changing resolution would also change the FPS in some cases when it shouldn't.

  • We’ve fixed a bug that could prevent Camo Studio from working properly after bringing your PC out of Standby.
  • Clicking the video preview to refocus your phone camera should now work again.
  • Loading our camera effects should no longer fail if your processing device happens to reset itself at the same time.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where some .cube LUTs couldn’t be imported into Camo Studio.
  • Camo Studio’s USB Android support has been patched up to fix rare crashes related to its initialisation.
  • We’ve gotten rid of a rare bug that could happen when connecting wirelessly to an iPhone.

  • Emoji hands are now available under the AR menu for all cameras. Give it a shot! ✌️
  • Camo Studio is now available for ARM-based Windows devices on the Microsoft Store: This includes all our standout video features like segmentation, filters and scenes.
  • You can now edit all of Camo’s image adjustment values by clicking on them – In case you need to dial in your temperature _just right_!

3 improvements

  • We’ve changed video players for our Help guides! Videos should load faster and you can now adjust playback speed.
  • As a treat, we’re now including the open-source _Inter_ font, which you can use in your Scenes out of the box. Additionally, we’ll now warn you if the Scene you’re using relies on fonts not installed on your computer.
  • Importing images into your Scenes should now respect their rotation EXIF metadata.

4 fixes

  • We’ve fixed various issues in the Scene editor, including a missing font weight for text elements.
  • The panning tool should now handle any video orientation you throw at it.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where image stretching could be incorrect in Scenes imported from the macOS version of Camo Studio.
  • Some spinning rings were loitering around in the preview zoom menu… We told them to pack up and leave.

We’ve also updated some of the technology we use to build the app, which means ending updates for macOS 10.13 and 10.14. Camo Studio 2.0.5 will continue to work on those versions.   • Meet the new onboarding experience with our new Getting Started tutorial.
  • Unsupported hardware mode. This allows the use of features like 4K resolutions on older phones and ML effects on Intel Macs (there may be performance issues with this enabled). You can enable it in Camo Studio preferences.
  • Devices that have been paired for wireless connection appear in the devices dropdown and are available for a quick connection.

2 improvements

  • We've tuned some UI parts of the Camo Studio window to make it more beautiful.
  • In macOS 14.1 Apple removed support for DAL plugins, which some apps use to provide video to apps like Camo Studio. If Camo detects a DAL plugin it will let you know why it’s missing.

  • The zoom feature works correctly now with Studio Display with its recent firmware update.

  • Overlays have become *Scenes*! You can now set image and text variables to easily apply your brand everywhere. We have included a few built-in variables you can tweak and instantly use in our included Templates.

2 improvements

  • Camo will now automatically scan for paired wireless devices when you open the device list.
  • Virtual Cameras installed on your PC are now shown on their own section in the device list, making them easier to spot.

  • We’ve fixed an issue where images in Overlays/Scenes could be rendered at a lower quality.
  • Camo Studio should no longer pause automatically if you’re only using its audio output.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where pausing could work incorrectly when putting your PC in Sleep mode.
  • The pan tool has been given a fine for exceeding the speed limit and should now be easier to use when framing your video.

  • Camo Studio for Windows is now fully translated for 12 languages!

  • Camo will now automatically select a device on launch if available to help you get filming ASAP.
  • In the same vein, when pairing a new device over Wi-Fi, Camo will automagically connect to it.
  • Camo will now tell you if Camera or Microphone permissions have been turned off by Windows, and help you get back on track.
  • We’ve overhauled our update window while moving it into Settings: look forward to it the next time you read this!
  • Camo's UI has been touched up to look better if you have "Show accent color on title bars and window borders" enabled.

  • We've fixed some USB connection issues with Android that could happen when disconnecting/reconnecting your device.
  • The Compatibility Pack should now download properly for everyone, even if you're on a slow Internet connection!
  • We've fixed an issue where valid Pro licenses were mistakenly considered expired.
  • Emojis should now show up in the paired devices view properly. 😎🤳📶
  • The Settings Window will now be centered properly when opening.

  • You can now record video files with Camo! Use the new recording controls on the top-right side of the window to get filming.
  • Camo now supports microphones! Use audio from any microphone connected to your PC in Camo Studio. We've also added an audio delay setting to fix rare issues where audio and video are out of sync, which can be enabled in the Advanced tab of the app settings.

  • If you’re using a NVIDIA GPU, portrait effects should be more efficient.

  • We’ve restrained our notification panel so it doesn’t expand infinitely if you have lots of notifications queued up.
  • We've fixed an issue where overlays imported from macOS could have their elements ordered backwards.
  • The Camo Studio Fluent UI should now show up properly in VMWare virtual machines.
  • Some UI elements were not appearing as disabled in some cases – Shouldn’t happen now!
  • We've fixed an issue which could happen if you imported custom backgrounds to Camo Studio and then removed the imported images from your PC.

  • 4K for phones is here! You can now get super high resolution video out of your iOS and Android devices running the latest versions of the Camo app.
  • If you have a real green screen, you can now dial in a Chroma Key yourself instead of using Camo’s ML segmentation feature.
  • We’ve added an option in preferences to select from light or dark appearance, or keep the system setting.

2 improvements

  • You can now set any audio delay value you’d like, instead of 100ms increments.
  • If any overlay was applied before going into the overlay editor, it will be reapplied on exit.

  • We’ve fixed the “Connect a device” prompt being shown in your feed when switching between UVC devices.
  • If a device supports 29.97 FPS, we now show that instead of rounding up to 30 FPS.

  • Camo Studio will now make use of Windows’ native notifications to warn you about different things, even if the app is minimized.
  • You can now pair new wireless devices directly from Settings > Devices.

  • We've fixed an issue where your video could be upside-down in certain versions of Microsoft Teams.
  • The “Pause” icon should now always be centered, even on non-16:9 resolutions.
  • Users with Gigabyte hardware should no longer be asked whether their motherboard is an Android device.
  • New text elements in the Overlay Editor now no longer have an unspecified phantom font. 👻
  • We've fixed a bug where overlays would not render in the video preview in specific cases.
  • Some error windows you could see when running multiple instances of Camo Studio or importing a corrupt LUT have been made clearer to understand.
